The Financial Director’s role is to control the business and be the eyes and ears of the business owner, by interpreting the financial and operational data in a way that is useful and meaningful.
In this role, the FD is often called upon to preside over various affairs of the client. We have provided a comprehensive list of all or any of the functions where you may require the assistance of an outside professional:
- Evaluation and implementation of a new accounting system;
- Evaluation of Internal Control Systems and recommendations for improvements;
- Establishment and maintenance of bookkeeping and accounting systems;
- Fine-tuning of Operational Control Systems;
- Preparation of comprehensive Business Strategy, Forecasts, Budgets and Cash Flow projections for banks, management and capacity planning;
- Detailed financial reporting, including comparison to budget;
- Fixed asset register and depreciation schedule preparation and maintenance;
- Preparation of and Compliance with all TAX, VAT and all other SARS returns and regulations;
- Design and implementation of proper Invoicing and Debtor Collection Systems designed to shorten the collection cycle;
- Analysis of Acquisition Opportunities and Growth Strategies;
- Liaison with bankers, insurance brokers and other institutions on behalf of clients;
- Company and Close Corporation registration;
- Attendance at Board Meetings;
- Audit advice and preparation of audit file for maximum audit efficiency;
- Business Opportunity Evaluation;
- New Business, Division or Business Unit set up establishment and Implementation
